ADVANCED LEVEL EXAM
Advanced LEVEL DO AS I DO
CERTIFICATION
This exam evaluates advanced Do as I Do skills for both the dog and the handler, challenging the team to demonstrate solid imitation and accurate reproduction even after a brief distraction.
Eligibility:

Available only to pairs who have successfully obtained both the Foundation Training Certification and the Basic Level Certification.
Delivery:

The exam consists of two practical exams and no theory (written) part, and can be conducted live or online. The candidate will conduct the test.
Exam Format: Consists of two practical exams – Exam1 and Exam2

Exam 1: ‘Do it!’ cue is given while the handler is looking straight ahead and not at the dog. The procedure is the same as in the Basic Level exam.

The dog is tested on six actions.

At least two of these actions must be different from those used in the Basic Level exam, including:

at least one action without an object, and
-
at least one action involving a new object.

In four of the six trials (chosen by the examiner), the dog will be rewarded with a treat after the demonstration, for remaining in the starting posture at the start position. Immediately after the dog has consumed the reward, the owner will give the “Do it!” cue.

Exam 2: The dog is tested on two actions using one novel object. The object and actions will be decided by the examiner during the exam.
Passing criteria:

Exam 1. At least 9 successful trials out of 12, with no mistakes on same action.

Exam 2. Successful reproduction of 2 actions within a reasonable time frame, as judged by the examiner.
